Conexo has been awarded AEO Accreditation

CONEXO has just been received the most important accreditation in its history. Now, we are an AEO - an Authorized Economic Operator.

AEO accreditation is awarded by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the Federal Revenue of Brazil and is designed to make trade easier. AEO provides a guaranteed link between the State, the Federal Revenue Service and the company, who promise to carry out import and export activities in a proper and reputable manner.

The Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program is part of a "network". The aim is to create a trusted channel for faster and more agile customs clearance. It starts with countries joining up and then it connects exporters, importers, ports, airports, terminals, warehouses, shipping companies, airlines, transporters, freight agents and customs brokers.

Once accredited, AEO certifies that the company is a low-risk, reliable operator and, therefore, Brazilian Customs will treat its loads more flexibly and more predictably when passing through international channels.

It also provides a number of other benefits, for example, a place on the Consultative Forum and seminars and courses, as well as fewer customs inspections when exporting and importing, among many others.

The Director General of CONEXO, Fabio Belau, said, “This accreditation means a lot, not just for us, but more importantly for our clients and business partners, who will benefit from this in the future.

We also appreciate that we have to be significantly more responsible towards all those involved in the services our company provides and towards the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil (RFB)”.

What are the benefits for clients and partners?

AEO accreditation guarantees that clients and business partners of CONEXO will be able to rely on benefits that ensure our service is agile, reliable and secure. The main ones are:

1. A direct line of communication to the Federal Revenue Service;

2. Less cargo will be selected for inspection;

3. When they do meet the criteria for inspection they will be dealt with as a priority;

4. You will be able to take advantage of the benefits available from Customs Mutual Assistance Agreements, between Brazilian Customs and Customs organizations in other countries who are affiliated to the AEO system.
